The world famous St Peter's Chapel is just one mile away from The Cricketers. This makes us the closest pub to England's oldest church.

Each year we welcome hundreds of pilgrims who visit the Chapel. The first Saturday in June each year sees pilgrims from all over the country descend upon Bradwell and walk to the chapel. The Cricketers provides a welcome refreshment point along the way.

If you are planning to visit the chapel make sure you pop-in and say hello.

Most towns or villages can lay claim to a local celebrity. Dagenham has Dudley Moore, Brentwood - Sir Alan Sugar and so on.

Obviously Bradwell isn't as big as most other places so the best we can do is ..... Trevor.

Trevor is king of the karaoke and quiz master supreme. Come and see him in action before Simon Cowell or Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber get their hands on him.

The Cricketers Pub has served the people of Bradwell for many years. Throughout the years many characters and people with interesting stories have passed through its doors.

In particular the pub and village is very proud of its association with Bradwell Bay airfield. During the war years, serving airmen from around the world would take a short walk across the fields to spend many an evening at the Cricketers. At one point the ceiling was covered with the autographs of the various air crews who served at Bradwell Bay during the war. Regrettably this has now been lost due to redecoration. Nevertheless the Cricketers is proud of its association with the airfield and that many brave young men could find it a place where for a short while they could relax and enjoy themselves.

The insignia above belongs to 23 Squadron who flew Mosquitos from Bradwell Bay in the winter of 1942.
